If you are experiencing a problem with your Windows 11 PC giving you a blurry screen, it hinders productivity. Luckily, there are ways to fix a blurry screen on Windows 11 using native tools and settings.

For example, you might experience a specific app or text that’s blurry and difficult to read. Or you might also have trouble seeing the sign-in screen and content on the taskbar.

Whatever your problem with the Windows experience being fuzzy or blurry, we’ll show you some options to get a clear view of your screen.

Where Would You See a Blurry Screen on Windows 11?

There are different parts in the Windows 11 experience where you might have trouble making out text or objects. For example, sometimes you may launch a legacy app that’s not scaling right on your PC. Or, you might have trouble making out the sign-in screen when you first turn on your system.

Check out the following options that will allow you to fix a fuzzy app or blurry text so you can start getting things done.

Use the ClearType Text Utility

If you have a problem with fuzzy or blurry text, the ClearType utility is the place to start. This utility has been available in Windows for years and is still available on Windows 11.

To use ClearType on Windows 11:

  2. When the ClearType utility launches, check the Turn on ClearType option and click Next.
  3. Work the way through the utility’s on-screen instructions by choosing the text looks best for you on your screen.

Adjust App Graphics Preference on Windows 11

If you have a blurry or fuzzy problem with specific apps on your system, you can adjust each app’s graphics preference to utilize more of the GPU.

To customize graphics preference:   

  1. Press Windows key + I to open Settings.
  2. Select System from the left panel and click the Display option on the right.

Windows will display a message about possible issues by setting it to the high performance option. So, if you notice the app crashes or other system issues result, you can set it back to the Let Windows decide (Power saving) option.

Configure Performance Settings

Configuring the performance options will help you get rid of blurry objects on your Windows PC. Note that these settings are also available on Windows 10.

To adjust performance settings on Windows 11:

  1. Press the Windows key to open the Start menu.
  2. Type advanced settings and select the View advanced system settings

Adjust Display Scale Settings

Another thing you can do to make app icons, text, and other items easier to see is to increase the display scale settings. If things are challenging to see, adjusting the settings can help.

Also, if it isn’t set to the recommended setting, that could be why everything is blurry.

To adjust DPI settings on Windows 11:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Select System from the left column and Display from the options on the right.

Adjusting Your Windows 11 Display Settings

You’re irked and less productive when dealing with blurry apps and text on your Windows system. But if the problem arises, the above options should allow you to return to work.

There are other things you can do with display settings and your monitor. For example, you can customize the monitor refresh rate and resolution settings. Or, if you have a laptop connected to a monitor, it’s possible to close the laptop and use the monitor.

Also, if you are on a dual-monitor setup, you might want to move the taskbar to the other display. And if you have a high-end gaming laptop, you will want to enable dynamic refresh rate options to extend battery life.
