Microsoft Releases October Patch Tuesday Updates for Windows 10
It’s Patch Tuesday again and all supported versions of Windows 10 are receiving new cumulative updates. Here’s a look at what to expect.
It’s Patch Tuesday again, and today Microsoft is releasing cumulative updates for supported Windows 10 versions 2004, 20H2, and 21H1. It comes in the form of KB5006670. As is typical with cumulative updates, there are no new features to report, but it does include some highlights and a changelog with fixes. This update will bump your builds to 19041.1288, 19042.1288, and 19043.1288, respectively. Here’s a look at what you can expect from this latest update.

- Updates security for your Windows operating system.
And these are the security improvements and quality improvements to expect:
- Addresses an issue that prevents some applications, such as Microsoft Office and Adobe Reader, from opening or causes them to stop responding. This occurs on devices that are subject to Microsoft Exploit Protection for Export Address Filtering (EAF).
Get Windows 10 Updates
If automatic updates are enabled on your system, you should see the new updates in the next couple of days. Or you can stay on top of things by manually heading to Settings > Update & Security > Microsoft Update to check and download the updates.
